The LiOA electric water heater is a shock-protected water heater line that applies proprietary isolation transformer technology, protecting users from the risk of electrical leakage when using hot water. The product is designed to suit residential electrical conditions in Vietnam, where many buildings do not yet meet earthing standards or lack proper electrical protection devices.

How Does Isolation Transformer Technology Work?

Conventional electric water heaters use a resistance heating element powered directly from the mains supply, so they always require protection systems such as an earth wire and an ELCB/RCD to detect leakage current and cut off power when a fault occurs. In practice, however, the effectiveness of this protection depends on installation quality, the condition of the earthing wire, and periodic equipment inspection.
In electrical engineering, an isolation transformer is a solution that separates the output circuit from the mains supply in terms of direct electrical conduction. Thanks to this principle, the likelihood of a dangerous current path forming into the user’s environment is reduced when an insulation fault occurs.
With its focus on enhanced electrical safety, the LiOA water heater applies this electrical isolation principle in suitable configurations as an additional layer of protection at the power supply level, helping to reduce risk and working alongside standard electrical safety measures during installation and operation.
LiOA Water Heater Design: Energy Saving and Extended Service Life

LiOA dual-tank water heater design with two switches
Beyond safety, the LiOA water heater is also designed to optimize energy consumption and durability over long-term use. The dual-tank structure within a single casing allows users to adjust the heating power flexibly. With only one tank switched on, the heater warms half of the total capacity – suitable for periods of low hot-water demand such as summer – while saving electricity and reducing heat loss. With both tanks switched on, the power reaches 2000W, quickly heating the entire volume of water to meet continuous demand in the cold season.
This design is also advantageous where the power grid is weak: it reduces inrush current and limits the impact on other electrical appliances in the home. This makes it well suited to residential areas with unstable power quality.
The anti-scale magnesium anode rod is positioned outside the tank shell for easy inspection and replacement, helping to limit corrosion of the inner tank and extend the service life of the unit. A temperature gauge lets users monitor the water temperature accurately, while a control knob allows the temperature to be set to suit daily household needs.
Usage Instructions and Technical Specifications

Usage instructions
The LiOA water heater must be securely installed using the fixed mounting bracket, with a check valve fitted on the water supply line and heat-resistant piping used for the hot water line. To operate, the user switches on the circuit breaker on the control box, selects the switch for each heating tank, and adjusts the temperature using the rotary knob. The temperature gauge indicates when the water has reached a suitable level for use.
Periodic maintenance focuses on the magnesium anode rod. With a good water supply, the typical replacement cycle is two years; if the water contains heavy scale, it should be inspected after the first year and the schedule adjusted accordingly. Electrical components such as the power cord must be replaced by qualified technicians to ensure safety.
Technical specifications
The LiOA electric water heater is currently available in two models, CT30 and CT50, with capacities of 30 liters and 50 liters respectively, meeting hot-water needs for family bathrooms, apartments and townhouses. The product operates at 220V – 50/60Hz with a power rating of 2000W, and withstands a maximum water pressure of 0.8 MPa, suitable for the domestic water systems commonly found in Vietnam.
The heater carries a 5-year genuine warranty covering all components, except for the anti-scale magnesium anode rod and the heating element, reflecting the LiOA brand’s commitment to build quality and long-term product durability.
