LiOA Outdoor Lighting Featured in Electrical Engineers Exhibit

Ilaw Atbp, LiOA’s exclusive distributor for outdoor lighting in the Philippines, sponsored a month-long exhibit by the graduating batch of the Philippine School of Interior Design on October 2019 at the 5th floor of Greenfield Tower in Mandaluyong City. Founded in 1972, the Philippine School of Interior Design is the leading institute in the country for a full 4-year interior design degree-granting course. Since 1979, the school has showcased a graduation exhibit inspired by a certain theme.

This year’s exhibit is the 40th installation and followed the theme of “HUGIS ATBP” or “Homes Using Geometrically Inspired Spaces for Alternative Types of Built Spaces”. It demonstrated the co-existence of design and functionality in alternative spaces of varying shapes, and the impact of such in different habitat styles. In this exhibit, 12 design spaces maximizing an area of 30sqm were featured – each of which had an assigned shape (square, circle or triangle) and habitat style (urban, surburban or resort) to follow.

In addition to the theme, the use of sustainable materials, such as the resin plastic of the LiOA outdoor lighting products, was also highlighted in the show. The resin plastic of the LiOA outdoor lighting products does not corrode, are UV-ray stabilized, and are not affected by chemical fertilizers. It requires no maintenance and is therefore, a more sustainable alternative to metal. As part of the exhibit, LiOA garden lamp posts and wall lamps were integrated in the design.
